Such a great morning with some 200 egg hunters. Next year we will mostly likely have to stuff and hide over 2000 eggs. ~Pastor Jason Manning
Last year, I had just started Hello Sudden Valley and this was the first event I went to take photos at. I was so pleasantly surprised at the great commaraderie and fun for the kids who make Sudden Valley home...Don't miss this year. In fact, if you can help out and take a few photos for Hello Sudden Valley--that would be awesome!
Due to the recent rains, there's a small pond next to the parking lot (near SunMark). Isn't it beautiful. Walked Lake Louise and found these 2 ducks frolicking after I finished. Also, does everyone know about the secret passageway under the road from Valley Village to the other side of the road by Lake Louise? If you don't, it's definitely the safest way to cross!
This gift came from one of her clients. Lena who makes Sudden Valley home is a Mortgage Loan Officer with Umpqua Bank. She and I will be doing a "New Homebuyer" session at the Sudden Valley Library Meeting room end of April. Will keep you posted if you have friends who might be wanting to buy a home in 2015!
My great niece, Penelope.

Way to go Sudden Valley Riders!
This is about our neighbor Steve Sample. Such talent in Sudden Valley...Some friends have started a Kickstarter project to help him. Here's some information about Steve and the project:
About this project:
At 84 years of age, Steve Sample is a force of nature. (He has survived cancer, heart problems, cataracts and the heat of 50 summers in Alabama.) In more than three decades at The University of Alabama as a theory and arranging professor, director of the Alabama Cavaliers and the Alabama Jazz Ensembles, and arranger for the Million Dollar Band, he influenced thousands of students, many of whom have gone on to careers in music like Birch Johnson (the Blues Brothers), Cedric Dent and Mervyn Warren (Take Six), Chuck Tilley (Lee Greenwood, Englebert Humperdink, Dolly Parton) Alison Prestwood (Nashville studio musician), Ray Reach (Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame writer & performer), to name a few. His complex, swinging big band arrangements were played by countless student musicians.
Steve continues to write for big bands across the country - and he has been busy since retiring – writing over 80 wonderful new arrangements ranging from the sultry sounds of Cry Me a River to his witty take on the Nutcracker (You Crack My Nuts, Sweetie.) He’s having a ball, but he sure would like to hear his new arrangements professionally recorded. The only problem is that takes money. The low end estimate for is about $30,000 for one CD. A friend has pledged $5,000 if he can raise the rest ($25,000.) Not a drop in the bucket, but not insurmountable given the legion of Steve’s supporters throughout his lifetime, and the power of social media. (And if we can raise more, he'll record more tunes!)

Of course, Barbara Volkov's hubby and dog are wonderful but what thrilled me was to see his InstaWeather iphone app that said: SUDDEN VALLEY, WA!!! Woohoo--I think I'll download it to for Hello Sudden Valley...
Ahhh, such a sweet boy with Santa. Unabashed joy and sheer delight (and Santa was pretty cute too)!
I took this photo in December at the "Breakfast with Santa" event sponsored by the Sudden Valley Community Association. The event was quite simply amazing in everyway. I'm honored my photo made the front page of the Sudden Valley Views with the adorable quote.
Yes, every year we have an opportunity to begin anew with a fresh slate so to speak. Of course, that doesn't make everything go away but it can be a defining moment when we can start again with fresh intentions and renewed energy. I began my website "Hello Sudden Valley" and Facebook page back in April 2014. I began a new career in real estate. I became acquainted with many people here in Sudden Valley. It's been a fun year. And, now I look ahead to see how I can improve myself and my life for myself and loved ones. Isn't that what New Year's resolutions are all about?
I'd like to invite all of you who live in Sudden Valley to reflect on why you moved here, what you enjoy about living here and what makes it special to call it home. Home is where the heart is....they say. So share a few words with us and a photo.
There is always J-O-Y and laughter in the air when you pop into the Spotted Pig. Chrysanthe is there ready to meet, greet, visit and point out their latest acquisitions that a person may want to add to their home or give as a gift. Festive Holiday Adornments are everywhere in the store right now.
